Topping-out ceremony at Hankook Tire Hungary Ltd.'s factory expansion in Rácalmás – Another structural milestone in the construction of Grabarics Ltd.
On November 18, 2025, we celebrated a remarkable moment in the expansion of Hankook Tire Hungary Ltd.'s plant in Rácalmás: the topping-out ceremony was held at the highest point of the production hall under construction. For Grabarics Kft., this milestone not only marks the completion of a construction phase, but also proves that the project is progressing steadily, on schedule and to a high technical standard.
It was a great honor for us that the global and European senior management of Hankook Tire Hungary Ltd. also attended the ceremony. Grabarics Ltd. has a long-standing relationship with the Korean company: our relationship dates back to the first phase of the plant. We are particularly proud that the company has entrusted us with the general construction of its current truck and bus tire manufacturing facility, which is of paramount importance for Europe.
The topping-out ceremony – a symbol of joint work
The topping-out ceremony is one of the most beautiful traditions in the construction industry, paying tribute to the professionals who work behind the scenes every day to ensure success. The physical workers on the project are the ones who literally leave their mark on this investment. They work from dawn to dusk, in rain, frost and scorching sun; without their expertise, perseverance and precision, no building would ever become a reality.

Before the decorative wreath was placed in its rightful place, the managers of Hankook Tire Magyarország Kft., Heerim Architects & Planners Co. Ltd., and Grabarics Kft. jointly tied the companies' ribbon to the tree. This moment symbolized everything that is important to us: expertise, perseverance, cooperation, and common goals.
Impressive results in one year
The scale and pace of the project speak for themselves. Construction of the 70,000 m² production facility began in January 2025 and reached its highest point, 30.17 meters, in 11 months.
Materials used in construction to date:
- 36,835 m³ of concrete
- 149,295 m² of formwork
- 2,499 tons of reinforcing steel
The amount of reinforcing steel is well illustrated by a single image: if we were to pull it all out as 16 mm strands, it would run for 1,580 km – that would be 83% of Hungary's entire motorway network.

It is particularly important for Grabarics Kft. that, in addition to technical performance, partnership and cooperation also work exceptionally well. The joint work with Hankook Tire Magyarország Kft. and the design team of Heerim Architects & Planners Co. is exemplary: fast, smooth, constructive, and based on trust. The topping-out ceremony is a fitting milestone in this successful professional journey, which will continue with the start of internal industrial, mechanical and electrical construction work.
A celebration for the community
After the official program, guests were invited to a joint lunch, where the good atmosphere, delicious stew, fresh strudel, and informal conversations made the day truly memorable. For us, these moments strengthen the community on which the Grabarics brand is built.

This is how our company, Grabarics Kft. has been chosen as one of the enterprises with the steadiest financial standing.
- The comprehensive renovation and expansion of the Buda Order of Mercy Hospital was successfully completed in February 2026. The general contractor for the project was Grabarics Építőipari Kft., which, throughout the entire construction process, demonstrated outstanding professional expertise in harmonizing modern healthcare infrastructure with the historic surroundings.
- The development of the Dreher Breweries has reached another spectacular milestone: we have reached the highest point of the buildings, which we celebrated with a topping-out ceremony in keeping with tradition.
- Grabarics Kft. is participating as the general contractor in the Bazalt III project at ROCKWOOL’s Tapolca site, which involves the comprehensive development and renovation of the existing office, workshop, and warehouse areas. The project is scheduled for completion, with technical handover set to begin, in the third quarter of 2026.
- Weinberg '93 Ltd. and GRABARICS Ltd. won the consortium tender for the expansion of Dreher Breweries in 2024. A unique investment in the Hungarian beer industry is underway at the historic Dreher Brewery, with the aim of modernizing the brewery's technology. The first phase involves the construction of a new cellar and energy block, with the general contractor's work already well underway.
