The project was carried out in two phases: in the first phase, a new, state-of-the-art administrative and patient care building was constructed, while in the second phase—the most complex part of the project—a high-tech central unit housing operating rooms, intensive care units, and diagnostic departments was built in the inner courtyard of the historic main building. The new and old sections of the building are connected by a glass-fronted bridge.
One of the greatest technical challenges of the project was the reconstruction of the main building, which is a protected historic monument. Grabarics Kft. ensured the preservation of historical values with the precision of a restorer: the facade and roof structure were renewed, decorative elements were restored, and in the interior spaces, the original architectural details were preserved and renovated while modern patient care functions were established.
During the project, the contractor implemented complex civil engineering, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems, ensuring the operation of state-of-the-art medical technology infrastructure. A particular challenge was that all of this had to be carried out while the hospital remained in continuous operation.
The official handover ceremony took place on March 26, 2026. The completed hospital is a modern, technically advanced healthcare complex that preserves its historical values, reflecting Grabarics Építőipari Kft.’s expertise in complex projects carried out within historic environments.
