THE BUILDING CO-OPERATIVE IN HEGAU VISIONS ITSELF AS A TOP-LEVEL MOUNTAINEER
The engineering team of our branch site in Germany started the implementation of the K2 Project in January 2017 in Radolfzell.
THE BUILDING CO-OPERATIVE IN HEGAU VISIONS ITSELF AS A TOP-LEVEL MOUNTAINEER

The client baptized the project "K2" after a peak of Himalaya and spoke about immense demand, high standards and outstanding requirements, right from the very beginning. Indeed, the client had placed the "high jump bar" to an extreme setting. The work included construction of 50 rental apartments and a deep garage while the tenants could remain in 4 existing apartments. The task was not simple even from aspects of architecture because creating harmony between the extension and the heightened part of the structure and the original building erected in 1965 was considered an essential undertaking. As another particular feature, the addition of new living spaces, the modernization of the structure and the heightening of the building had required the use of only a minor additional part of the landscape. With the completion of the project in early 2019, the building co-operative intends to offer accommodation (in rental apartments not for sale) to the employees attracted by the new industrial facilities to Stockach, like the ones our company had built in 2017 for Baumer.

As a matter of curiosity, the architect designer let himself to be gripped by the effusive joy frequently enchanting the hill-climbers: in the beginning, the naming of the project after the second highest peak in the world disappointed him. However, Reinhold Messner, the renowned mountaineer used to describe "K2" as the "mountains of the mountains". Thus, the architect, reconciled to the facts, could proudly refer to the exacting requirements the project had to meet.
