Construction of a multifunctional engineering complex commences in Visegrádi Street
The right of execution of a project titled "Implementation of an EMC Measuring Laboratory and Server Cen-ter" proclaimed by the National Media and Infocommunication Authority (NMIA) has recently been awarded to Grabarics Constructions Ltd. in the frame of an open public procurement procedure.
Construction of a multifunctional engineering complex commences in Visegrádi Street

The demolition and construction work of large dimensions of the new wing designed as a multifunctional engineering facility will be started in late May within NMIA's Visegrádi Street premises.

Following a multi-year period of preparations, representatives of the investor and the contractor signed a contract to specify implementation of a new wing to be attached to the NMIA HQ as to commence a new phase of the project: the execution of the document marked the end of a four-year period of preparations and permits commencement of a more spectacular phase perceivable also by outside observers, including the site preparations followed by the construction itself. The three underground and five above-ground levels of the new part of the HQ building shall accommodate offices, meeting rooms, a deep underground garage, a high-capacity computer and data processing center, a measuring chamber and several laboratories. The "green" aspects were emphasized already in the early phase of designing: sources of renewable energy and environment-friendly solutions ensure reduction of any adverse effect produced by the new complex to the smallest possible level. Accordingly, no natural gas will be used in the building. Instead, heat exchanging technology shall supply the space heating system whose energy consumption shall approximate to the thermal efficiency of passive houses. Roof gardens shall contribute to the improvement of air quality and collected storm water will be used to irrigate the trees and bushes. The currently perceivable noise nuisance will be eliminated almost perfectly by the three-level underground garage designed to accommodate vehicles used by NMIA and its employees.

The construction work will be commenced within one month and is expected to terminate in two years. The project designs were prepared by Nirmana Architects Ltd.
